Gifting Smiles Through Music: My Journey with Rhythmic Energy

All that ever was, is and will be, always finds its culmination only when it can be used to bring a smile on someone else's face. And this is how I would like to define what Rhythmic Energy (RE) is all about. At RE, we make an effort to gift genuine smile to people wrapped in a box, whose prime fibre is music. . . . It was a dream come true when I was blessed to join the university brass band as a saxophonist. Major part of the day would be spent practicing and perfecting music notes. But as fate would have it, the end of my academic course at the university meant the end of this musical journey which had become the way of life for me. I was not only going to miss my instrument and the music but it was something far greater than that. It was loss of a family, moments of peace and true happiness as well. . . . It is rightly said, "When you desire for something very hard, entire universe conspires to make it happen to you." And my only desire at that point was to have whatever I was losing back. Universe conspired and RE happened to me. . . . I found my extended loving family in the members of the band and also a chance to be able to play my instrument again as a part of a large group. . . . I got an opportunity in the September of 2018 to be a part of RE as a performer at Shishu Mandir, a school in Bangalore that offers free English medium education to children from poor families. The two days – namely the day of the final rehearsal session and the concert day – I would call are listed amongst the best days of my life. I learnt to see music differently. The smile on the faces of those tiny tots and their parents, throughout the program, as we played and danced with them was out of the world. . . . The realization I had that day can be summed up in just one quote, "Talents are God's gifts unto us, but what we do with them is our gift unto Him". I look forward to being a part of many more opportunities to spread joy!"
