The guitar neck features frets, metal strips that divide the neck into half-steps, enabling precise note selection. As a versatile instrument, the guitar can serve as both a rhythm instrument, playing chords and providing backing melodies, and a lead instrument, playing solos, riffs, and melodic lines.
