Guitars

The guitar is a stringed musical instrument typically with six strings, although twelve-string variations are also common. Sound is produced by vibrating strings. The guitar neck features frets, metal strips that divide the neck into half-steps, enabling precise note selection. Guitars come in various forms, including hollow-bodied (acoustic) and solid-bodied (electric) designs.

As a versatile instrument, the guitar can serve as both a rhythm instrument, playing chords and providing backing melodies, and a lead instrument, playing solos, riffs, and melodic lines. Its wide range of tonal possibilities allows for gentle, atmospheric, powerful, and driving sounds, adding depth and complexity to a band's overall sound.

Guitars are highly adaptable to various genres and styles, from rock and pop to blues, jazz, and beyond. A guitarist in RE has a diverse role, tailoring the guitar's role to fit the group's specific sound and needs, and adapting to the different genres of music we perform.
